Back from the dead

Hey everyone,

No one really reads this but I figured I'd go ahead and start writing again because two of my really good friends just moved and this will be an easy way to keep in touch with them.

So, since I last wrote a lot of life changes have happened for me. Some work, some personal. But whatever, we don't need to talk about any of that. Let's talk about Georgia football. What is up with our team this year. I mean, I get that we're a young team, and I get that it's kind of a rebuilding year, or whatever. But wasn't that what last year was for. Shouldn't Stafford be at the point now where he can throw and complete touch passes? Shouldn't he be at the point now where he is leading the team offensively? We can't rely completely on our running game, because once it's stopped, you know, like in the Tennessee game, then we have to rely on the passing game. When we can't complete passes, where does that put us then? Anyway...thoughts?

Proud To Be An American - or not

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/Music/06/11/singer.beaten.ap/index.html

If tomorrow all our rights are gone,
we've worked for all our life.
And I had to live again,
in a world of sadness and strife.

I've lost the freedom I,
took for granted once and say,
This flag don't stand for nothin',
there's a new american way.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where my hate runs pure and true,
And I won't forget the men who tried,
to take this hate from you

And I sadly stand up,
next to you with hatred in my heart
For all the ingorance we all teach
to our children from the start.

From the KKK of Georgia,
to the people in the streets,
Across the plains of Texas,
the hatred comes in sheets.

From Main on down to Florida,
And New York to LA,
Well there's hatred in every American heart,
and it grows more every day.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where my hate runs pure and true,
And I won't forget the men who tried,
to take this hate from you

And I sadly stand up,
next to you with hatred in my heart
For all the ingorance we all teach
to our children from the start.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where my hate runs pure and true,
And I won't forget the men who tried,
to take this hate from you

And I sadly stand up,
next to you with hatred in my heart
For all the ingorance we all teach
to our children from the start.

Doesn't it make you proud to think that people can be so accepting and loving. That before all else, the one thing that can be depended on in the human race, is hatred for all things different, ignorance of all things better, and the acceptance of keeping this the status quo.

scary times

while we still can.

My grandmother is the coolest

This is a message forwarded to me by my grandmother. And this is why I love her.

Pass it on:
*The US government today announced that it is changing its emblem from
an
Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's
political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production,
destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and
gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

My Letter to CNN

CNN offered for email responses to How the passage of the no same sex marriage amendment would affect me. This is my response:

Of course it affects me. It affects everyone in the country. We are talking about basic rights for citizens of this once great country. I'm a straight male, but I have friends who are homosexual and to think that my government would blanketly decide that my relationship was better than that of my friends' seems like a bastardization of what this country once stood for. It diminishes all of the work that our parents and ancestors did to bring equality for everyone. I don't understand the reasoning behind this amendment. The defense that banning gay marriage is a way to uphold the sanctity of marriage seems to me to fall on the side of ridiculous. With the divorce rate hovering at the 50% mark and that number not even representing the number of married people involved in extramarital relationships, it seems absurd to me that there is concern about the 'value' of the marriage union. How much further can this value decrease by allowing two partners who love each other to marry? How can we have a country in today's age that so blatantly accepts and encourages the discrimination of a specific group? How is it that two neo-nazis can marry but not two upstanding homosexuals? This opens up another debate. If the Bible says two people of the same sex can't marry, and let's face it, this is based completely on religious beliefs, where does it stop? In 20 years is it going to be two Jewish people? Muslim? How far does this go? How long do we allow for the stripping of our rights before we all stand up together and say, you know what, this is wrong. I'm not going to let this happen. To quote Broadcast News..."I'm tired as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."
I think as Americans who fight everyday for 'freedom,' 'liberty,' and other such word we seem so willing to toss around without seeming to understand their meaning, I think it is our right, it is our duty to stand behind all of our citizens and fight for their right to all civil liberties and rights.

These times in this country are very scary and it is our duty to figure out a way to stop these civil attrocities now before we get to a point where change is no longer an option. Where our freedoms will only exist in dreams.
We must stand up and discover a way to fight back.

Sometimes I Want To Vomit

Okay, so I know it is likely not to pass, but I feel that it should be mentioned that our country is a pathetic place filled with ignorant people governed by a collection of corrupt, equally ignorant, body.
This refers to the potential constitutional amendment that will be voted on this coming Tuesday, that would ban gay marriage. So here's the deal. Who gives a shit. I don't understand why so many people are so frightened by the concept of two men or two women getting married. It's ridiculous. Our president says that it is to maintain the sanctity of marriage. Well, um, how about the number of people in the country, some of them within this aforementioned governing body, who partake in what might be called Extra-marital relationships. Do we not think that that has a greater impact on the sanctity of marriage. what about the divorce rate. I know that people like to say it's 50%, but i think it's closer to like 43%. Either way, with more than a third and nearly half of all marriages between and man and a woman ending in divorce. What value does marriage have in today's modern society? If we are going to ban gay marriage, then should we not ban extramarital relationships. make it punishable by law? or if someone does have an affair, then that marriage is no longer recognized, and all future marriages of the cheating partner should not be recognized as well. Does that make sense? No, of course not. People should be allowed to govern their own behavior. I don't understand why the government currently feels it so necessary to parent and control everyone. You can do this, you can't do that...we will listen to your calls, we will track your call logs, we will send you to war, we will tell you what is important and what is not.
We have a citizenship that seems inclined to openly and blindly accept a vast majority of the information that is handed to them. Now granted, I may lean more toward the conspiracy theory side of many things, and perhaps to a fault, but to sit back and accept everything at face value seems like an act of idiocy.
at this year's UGA graduation ceremony the editor of Time magazine spoke and i feel like everyone in the entire country should have squeezed into Sanford stadium to listen to part of his message. He said, essentially, that it is our job to question everything. To read and view, and take in information and edit it all to create a reality of our own. Don't just read the left wing propaganda, or even the liberal newspapers, read both the conservative and liberal side of all stories. Only then when all information is acquired and processed, can one even attempt to start to understand what is going on. And even then, do we really know the truth? Let's put it this way. Who killed JFK?

Ummm

So can someone please explain to me how this happens. The investigation into the illegal wiretapping is being dropped because clearance isn't being given to justice department lawyers. UMMM. Seriously, what the fuck. So as a government I can severely break laws, stripping the american people of rights, supposedly granted to us in that silly little ol' constitution, and because an agency decides not to grant clearance, then everythings dropped. I don't get it. What good is a government whose agencies don't act for the same common good of the people. When we have a clash of the power structures and those agencies meant to defend us and our rights, bow their heads and give in. I really just don't understand this. How is it that the justice department can't subpoena the information. How is it that some sub-committee or whatever who's in charge of this type of shit can't step in and say 'hey hand the shit over.'
And then...we have our own congressmen saying that they should be ashamed of themselves for not knowing the goings on of our country. When the media discovers that cell phones companies turned over phone records to the NSA so that all phone calls/logs could be tracked. So that they can know if you talked to your mom for an hour on a sunday and had a work call on a monday. I'll bet this information wasn't released by any Fox news reporter.
How as a country do we not see the total stripping of our rights. How have we all experienced such a mass blinding to any type of personal awareness to the status of what is going on with our country, our rights, and our future.
This is not a world where we can live and prosper. This is the start of nightmares and if we don't wake up, this nightmare will be a doozy.
So...Fucking wake up.
